Mat 1
- First step in the Balanced Body Pilates Mat Certification.
- Covers Pilates history & principles, beginner–intermediate mat repertoire, anatomy basics, and teaching tools.
- You’ll learn 30+ core mat exercises (Hundred, Roll Up, Single/Double Leg Stretch, Spine Stretch, etc.) with modifications for all levels.
- Focus on class design, cueing, and safe progressions.
- 6-hour course, plus practice, observation, and student teaching hours.
- Prepares you to teach foundational mat classes and move on to Mat 2 & Mat 3 for full certification.
Mat 2
- Second module in the Balanced Body Mat Certification.
- Focuses on intermediate to advanced repertoire building on Mat 1.
- Adds more challenging exercises (Teaser, Corkscrew, Swan Dive, Jackknife, Side Kick Series, etc.).
- Teaches progressions & regressions so you can work with multi-level clients.
- Covers programming skills: how to design creative, safe, and progressive mat classes.
- Emphasis on advanced cueing, rhythm, flow, and precision.
- 16-hour course + practice, observation, and teaching requirements.
Mat 3
- Final module in the Balanced Body Mat Certification.
- Focuses on advanced mat repertoire plus creative variations using props (ring, band, ball, roller, etc.).
- Explores how props add challenge or support and keep classes fresh.
- Covers functional movement applications—linking Pilates to real-life movement.
- Uses the Balanced Body Programming System for class design, flow, and multi-level teaching.
- Develops mastery in cueing, sequencing, and progression to prepare you for diverse clients.
- 16-hour course, plus practice, observation, and teaching requirements.
Reformer 1
- First module in the Balanced Body Reformer training pathway.
- Covers Pilates history and the underlying movement principles.
- Introduces beginner and some intermediate reformer repertoire including: Footwork, Hundred, Coordination, Stomach Massage, Short Box, Elephant, Knee Stretches, etc.
- Focus on safety, setup, equipment use, and proper alignment.
- Emphasizes teaching private clients: correct cueing, spotting, and modifications for common issues (low back, hip, knee, shoulder, pregnancy).
- Builds a solid foundation before layering in more advanced programming in Reformer 2 & 3.
- 16-hour course + required personal practice, observation, and student teaching hours.
Reformer 2
- Second module in the Balanced Body Reformer pathway.
- Focuses on intermediate and early advanced reformer repertoire, building directly on Reformer 1.
- Key exercises include: Long Box Series (Pulling Straps, T, Backstroke, Teaser), Long Stretch Series, Semi-Circle, Corkscrew, Short Spine, Snake/Twist, and more.
- Emphasis on progressions and regressions — how to safely move a client from beginner to more challenging work.
- 16-hour course, plus required practice, observation, and student teaching hours
Reformer 3
- Final module in the Balanced Body Reformer training pathway.
- Focuses on the advanced reformer repertoire and integration of the full Pilates method.
- Key advanced exercises include: Control Balance, Star, Snake/Twist variations, Balance Control Front/Back, Russian Splits, Advanced Rowing, High Bridge, and other challenging sequences.
